Hexway ASPM 0.62.23: Better dashboards for deeper security insights

Hexway ASPM Update Dashboards top vulnerable repositories, risk score shart, dedicated dahboards for products and repositories

Release Date: August 9, 2024

Long time no see! What a day to announce the latest update to Hexway ASPM, version 0.62.23! Powerful new features are added to our dashboards to give deeper visibility into security posture. This release is designed to help AppSec Leads, Product Security Engineers, and other security professionals get more actionable insights into repositories and products in shorter periods of time, like… in seconds.

Why does this matter?

The new features in Hexway ASPM 0.62.23 have been specifically designed to increase the amount of information in the dashboards, make it easier to track critical vulnerabilities, and get an idea of how to secure development effectively over time. This is an update that DevSecOps and AppSec specialists can use to prioritize bug-fixing efforts and 100% be sure that the picked security strategy continues evolving in the right direction.

What’s new in 0.62.23?

Top 5 Vulnerable Repositories Card

One of the coolest additions in this release is a “Top 5 Vulnerable Repositories” card, which highlights risky repositories so that teams can spot critical vulnerabilities faster and take action to fix them.

The details previously available on the common dashboard are now pinned to a special one. This will allow Application Security Engineers to make quicker and much more informed decisions about focusing team efforts on fixing the most vulnerable parts of the infrastructure.

Retrospective Risk Score Chart

It’s always important to track how security measures work over time. This new retrospective risk score chart helps a lot in doing this. It tracks the changes in risk scores related to repositories and products over time, with a clear indication of any improvement in security levels. You can see trends visually to understand how effective secure development methods were and see how this affects the number of vulnerabilities and increases overall security.

This proves to be very important to AppSec engineers and their team leads, who are interested in maintaining the efficacy of security initiatives and adjusting strategies based on historical data over time.

Dedicated Dashboards for Products and Repositories

On top of the general dashboard, we add special dashboards for products and repositories separately. These new dashboards provide a focused overview of security metrics relevant to a given product or repository with analysis by category.

You can now imagine the security level of these components in a way you have never been able to. For example, if global dashboards only provided details like 5 of the most vulnerable repositories, the individual dashboards include elements such as the retrospective risk score chart, which has the historical risk data in a given repository or product.

What’s next?

This is not the finish line. We are not here to stop; we’re here to keep on getting better with Hexway ASPM and provide all the tools you might ever need for effective security management. New features in 0.62.23 create opportunities for deeper analysis and more advanced reporting features to be layered in upcoming releases.
